What's happening in the TAM world?
See below for all the latest news, developments and events. What's happening in the TAM world? UK Appointments
Over the last 6 months TAM International UK has been strengthening its field sales and technical support team and during April 08 recruited Claire Forster as Group Technical Manager. Claire has a background in cementitious products and concrete technology and has already helped to standardize the production of products and drive costs down for raw materials. In June 08 TAM recruited a new Northern Area sales Executive. John Byrne came to TAM with a good track record of working within the construction industry and John has already made good progress in contacting new customers.New products
In order to secure TAM’s involvement on the Bradway Tunnel remedial repairs, TAM had to develop a new Acrylic & PFA waterproofing grout capable of injection behind existing cementitious grouts and at the back of the tunnel rings. Trails carried out on site proved to be successful and the grout will be used over the next 4 mths.
TAM working with Reader Grout have successfully trialed a new Geothermal Grout for use in underground heating systems where renewable energy sources are proving to be a growing market. The product is a single bag system and has no Bentonite material in it and thereby offers a simple and efficient, pumpable material over the current market products with a good level of thermal conductivity. TAM hope that over the next few months good volume sales can be achieved with some of the major UK drilling companies. New Australian Sales Team
Over the past 8 months there have been some exciting new developments happening at TAM International. One of these is the addition of five experienced Technical Sales reps joining the ever growing TAM family. As we have a rep in Adelaide and two in QLD already, there was a need to expand our reach to Melbourne, regional Victoria, Sydney and Western Australia. With the new reps comes the opportunity for our sales team to be more accessible to the wider regions of Australia. It also gives TAM Australia a better ability to have a real one-on-one relationship with our customers, which we realize can make all the difference when you have an experienced person who can not only explain a product, but can be on site with you showing how to apply the products or just talking you through the application as well. Each new rep has brought their own diverse and specialized skills with them:
Opening of new Queensland Warehouse
To cater for the rapid growth of TAM Australia we have built a new warehouse and office in Brisbane QLD. Chris Anderson and his team at the warehouse make it simple for the quick distribution of TAM Products to both the Sunshine and the Gold Coast. We would also like to welcome the new Warehouse Manager Les Waldock who has been a valuable asset in setting up and organizing the new warehouse. Following its grand opening in July 2008 we will roll out new warehouses in other states to facilitate our growth across Australia.

These hydrophilic systems can be applied easily to a variety of areas including construction joints, pre-cast joints to applications around pipes, box outs and manholes. For further information on these fully tested and proven systems, contact us on TEL 01327 260646. TAM products return to Milford Haven
For the second year running, TAM has supplied ground resins and technical assistance to the Milford Haven Dry Dock in West Wales. Working alongside Quantum GP the Main Contractor, TamPur 110 low viscosity polyurethane injection resin was successfully introduced to stabilize and consolidate fill beneath the dry dock slab. Using a single piston electrically operated pump connected to a manchette tube, TamPur 110 was gradually introduced successfully under low pressure.
The injection of the resin was conducted in a bottom up fashion with the side walls of the bore hole supported through a plastic tube that was raised in line with the injection process. The Consultant on the project was WS Atkins Global of Cardiff. For more information on Quantum please visit their website at http://www.quantum-gb.co.uk/default/ For further information on the project, please contact Mark Hodgson of TAM on 07977552468. Based on previous success in 2005, TAM has once again won the supply of resin to the Dartford Tunnel project. TamPur 125, our rapid setting two-component polyurethane will be supplied to Specialist Contractors Balvac who is undertaking the injection works to the East Tunnel leaking joints. The injection method involves drilling injection access holes, using a rotary percussion drill to the rear of the segment joint. These access holes are positioned at regular intervals along the length of the joint with TamPur 125 systematically injected into each access hole. The project starts at the end of March 2007 and will continue for 7 days with additional work scheduled for later in the year. The Consultant on the project is Jacobs at Dartford.
